- Peas, Catjang
- Catjang Peas are good for quail, doves or other game. Plant 30 pounds per acre April to late July.
- Peas, Combine (Reseeding Type) Cowpeas
- These Peas are good for late summer and early fall quail food. Plant with Dove Proso Millet, Browntop Millet or alone. Ducks enjoy when flooded with a few inches of water. Deer and rabbits like the tender foliage. Plant 40 to 50 pounds per acre April through August.
- Peas, Iron-Clay Mixed Cowpeas
- These peas are excellent for quail, dove and deer. It produces forage in 45 days and produces mature seed in 100 days. Plant 50 pounds per acre in April through August.
- Peas, Lathco Flatpea
- The Lathco Flatpea is a long-lived perennial that makes dense growth 2' to 3' high. There is nothing better for doves, quail, ducks, turkey, deer, pheasant and grouse. Plant 25 to 40 pounds per acre April through July or early fall.
- Peas, O.K. Gamebird
- This is a late fruited plant like Sesbania which provides good food when needed for quail, doves, turkey and deer. Plant 10 to 15 pounds per acre April through July.

- Peas, Partridgepea
- Partridgepeas are annual reseeding legumes that grow 1' to 5' tall and will grow almost anywhere in all type soils. They provide good cover for quail and other wildlife. They give protection, winter food, summer shade and insect brood habitat. Prepare seed bed, cover lightly and pack with tractor tire or cultipacker. A little fertilizer may be applied the first year, but on most soils it is not necessary. With light disking or burning each spring in March, the patch will reseed for years. Broadcast with a cyclone seeder at a 10 to 15 pounds per acre rate February through July. Partridgepeas will have mature seeds in about 110 days after germination. Seeds have a very hard seed coat and germinate over a period of time insuring longevity of the stand.
- Prairie Bromegrass (Dixon - Lakota - Matua)
- Seeding in early fall or spring is recommended. Seed at 25 to 30 pounds per acre when planted with Alfalfa, Clover or Puna Chickory, or seed at 50 to 60 pounds per acre when planted alone. This grass is much more attractive to deer than most other perennial grasses such as Fescue.
